It"s this kind of situation that leads me to my general guidance that you make a list of the key sensors and begin collecting an entire set of known good spares Including everything, you can probably collect an entire set,including an ECU and AMM, for about what you just spent.

You should also make yourself a code reader switch. How to read the codes is covered in Bentley. There aresome photo's in my gallery that'll show how ridiculously simple it is to make one of these. You can scrounge the male plug part at the junkyard on your next visit - it is a fairly standard SAAB 8 prong plug. Here's the pix:
