And if it did I don't think it would be safe for the components on the board, and might cause solder to flow out of joints making matters worse.
However, that's not saying that what you did won't fix whatever's wrong with the boards, and your experience on two of them says it did.
I've always wondered about the resoldering trick, all the joints on boards I've done it on seem perfectly soldered and no cracks visible. But it does work to cure balky electronics on several of the C900 and 9000 component boards.
Maybe it is just the heat that does it. And maybe your approach is worth trying on other than cruise sontrol boards.
Saabina, how did you come to the oven temp, 375-400, and 10 minutes time values? It couldn't melt the solder, but maybe it anneals it in some way and fixes what I have theorized is the problem, crystallizing of the solder changing its conducting value.
Make sure the aroma is dissipated before baking pies or turkey next week.
