Just move ALL of the bits that are attached to the engine FROM the 2.0 to the 2.1 Keep the intake manifold BUT use the throttle body AND move the exhaust manifold to the 2.1 head. all the other bits, KEEP and move to the 2.1 engine. The AIC, the AMM, all of it. you will be keeping ALL of the electrical connections that way. There are only really three engine areas that have connections, the AMM which you will keep all of the plumbing for, the bits on the head - which you will keep all of (and in FACT many use the 2.1 head - which is the same as the 1991-1992 9000... as an upgrade because it flows better and put on the 2.0T ) and the starter/oilpressure/ and knock sensor on the block. They all plug in directly and work exactly the SAME.
Really, the guys that are hating life doing this are the ones that try to take an NA and turbo it. That is a bitch.
Just don't try to put 20 lbs of boost on it and you will be fine. A guy in Colorado did it and I can't remember his name, works fine. you can search this topic too. many have done it and it's really not rocket science.
If you have any questions email me.
