Had the exact same thing happen to my '88 turbo vert one year ago. Can't tell you that you will have exactly the same thing that caused my problem, but you never know! Here it is: The ECM mounted under the right side dash kickpanel area seemed to be the culprit. Did the same as your car is doing, no fuel. I bought a replacement ECM on Ebay. Installed it and the same problem was still present. No juice to the fuel pump relays. Changed the relays while I was in there. Still nothing. I gave up and sent it to my local Saab indy. I'm not an electronic diagnostic kind of guy, so I happily sent it to someone who was. Here's what they found: The ECM gets it's ground from the gang ground on top of the intake towards the front of the head. Somewhere between that ground point and my ECM I was losing the ground for the ECM itself. Rather than charge me a kazillion hours to remedy the situation, (I'm friendly with my Saab indy, and he's honest) he mereley snipped the ground about six inches from the ECM and chassis grounded it right there under the dash on the inner pillar. Problem solved! Yes, the grounds were tested good at the gang ground on the head, but there must have been a break or corrosion somewhere between the ECM and that ground. My indy told me that if I wanted to, that I could unwrap the whole wiring harnesss from the ECM to the ground to see if I could locate the bad ground wire in question....or I could just leave the ground that he had made which satisfied the ECM's need for a ground. I left it the way my indy left it. No problems since. Just thought I'd share, cuz I know how frustrating these kind of things can be! Best of luck..Cheers, Bob T.
