Yes they did pressure test the cooling system and it was good. I did the headgasket once back in 2000 I think when the car was at around 84K miles. Problem is I don't have any pre overheat compression numbers to compare these to.
I'll just check it weekly and make sure I'm not getting any cross contamination and keep my fingers crossed. Worst case I do the head gasket again...not the end of the world.
The car runs great and looks great still but it is getting to that point in it's life that I could envision a rebuild at some point. Problem is who is going to do it when it gets to that point. The mechanic I use is having some serious health issues now unfortunately. He has mentored a younger guy in his shop for years to take over but...all that experience is irreplaceable.
