The vented pads are just thinner. In other words, you can use non-vented pads on vented calipers, but they will have to be worn or ground down or they will not fit when you first install them. You could grind them down by hand, but please wear a dust mask.
The hubs are also different. If you're thinking about doing a swap, you will need the hub (the thing with four studs in it that sticks out of the wheel bearing, through which the axle goes). Changing the hub requires changing the wheel bearing. The steering swivel members are the same, but often people change the whole thing for convenience's sake, because then you avoid needing to change the wheel bearings.
