ok, some abs stuff info... Posted by Baggsly [Email] (#2350) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Baggsly) on Mon, 8 Apr 2013 23:27:34 In Reply to: Anti Lock light on, Eiron, Thu, 4 Apr 2013 16:42:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The wheel sensor operating voltage is 0.15-0.70V AC. Resistance is 800-1400 Ohms. Distance from wheel sensor to toothed wheel 0.65 mm (0.026"). Number of teeth up to 1989MY 94. From 1990MY onwards 46.
It also says to remove the sleeve from the sensor hole and put it on the new sensor and make sure it slides freely. Polish the surface w/ a piece of emery cloth if needed. Clean surface thoroughly & lubricate lightly before fitting sleeve.
Use a wire brush to remove all traces of old fibre washer from end of sensor. Clean the surface w/ a rag moistened w/ gas.
Remove any traces of fibre or dirt from inside the sensor housing. Spin the sensor wheel slowly & remove any fibre remains or dirt from between the teeth. Inspect for signs of damage.
Glue a new fibre spacer onto the end of the sensor. Thickness 0.65 mm.
Note: Once the sensor with the new spacer has been pushed out towards the sensor wheel, the road-wheel hub MUST NOT be rotated before the sensor has been secured in the correct position.
If the hub is rotated prematurely, the sensor wheel will tear the spacer, causing the sensor to be set incorrectly. Offset the adjusting sleeve half a turn to bring the setscrew to a new position.
If mounting the sensor in a vice to clean it, grip the adjusting sleeve in the jaws. Never clamp the sensor body itself as this can distort it.
Hopefully that gives you the info you're looking for. If not, let me know and I'll look again.
This info is from the 1989MY- 5:2 ABS braking system manual (pn 318360) and Book 0 Technical Data 1981-1993MY (pn 348268).
Mark :-)
