Only because I am a performance whore, I defeat the pressure transducer switch. If you are concerned about AFR going lean if you are boosting hard and driving with your right foot, then it would merit being fixed. If you are aren't driving the car hard, then I would plug up the hose and not worry about it.
However, if it is not holding boost pressure, then it would be bleeding off boost though it couldn't be much unless the boost / vacuum line it is completely disconnected.
Do you have it off the car and can test the unit you have?
You don't have to buy a Saab switch either -- there are lots of switches that are boost actuated. Betcha that Justin has a link to about 5 outfits that would have them on the shelf. Then you just have to get it mounted near the same location for the wires to connect to the ECU just like the stock one.
