I had to replace the banjo on my SPG way back, but on the other end, to the fuel filter. The line is soft enough to cut, but hard enough that it's a pain to get onto the barbed fitting to the banjo. Obviously if you soften the line up, it will slide on easier. So just heat it up right? BUT, this is fuel line, so it's not you can't just hit it with a flame! I decided to get a small pot of nice hot boiling water, bring it out to my car, and set the fuel line in that for a few minutes. The line softened right up and the banjo slid on. I did use a small hose clamp too just for extra piece of mind. You could also use a heat gun I suppose, but wouldn't want to risk getting it too hot/close to any fuel vapors. The boiling water was a nice, safe approach I felt.
