I would disconnect the banjo at either end of the fuel filter as you're going to replace that ( under the car / in the engine bay) then just run a piece of wire from a battery to the hot side of the pump while its still sealed in the top of the tank = Assume the gas will be running into a bucket somewhere distant from the trunk. Get fancy and put gator clips on the wire to hold it to the posts.
