What Bill said. Your inner driver isn't broken. There's a sheet metal can and it's just crimped over the driver. The cans come loose and rotate and slip around and sometimes guys re-secure them by spot welding. Rebuilt inner drivers from Eriksson Industries are all welded all the way around. The can gets removed before they weld and machine the inner driver so re-attaching it by welding just makes sense. Probably half of the C900s on the road have loose cans on their inner drivers. Apart from flinging some grease out (which was originally prevented by a hidden o'ring but it craps out when the can starts slipping) they still work OK.
