So I was an idiot and broke my clock spring last week. Found a replacement a couple days ago at the local indy mechanic. He told me not to even bother with my puller. He said the best way to get the wheel off is to leave the nut like one turn on the spindle (back it almost all the way off, but leave it on a little to stop the wheel from jerking all the way off), and just give the wheel a side to side pull - one side then the other, kindof walking it back. This breaks the tightness that causes the jerking if you just pull it straight off. I tried it and it comes off super easy - I can't believe I didn't think of this before.
