At the bottom of the key cylinder are 2 grooves. One of the gears in the reverse lock out system has 2 tabs, which fit into the 2 grooves and make the whole thing work. The tabs have broken off, which stops the gear system from engaging, which stops the actual ignition (wired) switch from turning when the key is turned. I just went thru this with my '92 turbo. So - Parts Car will be great. If the parts car has a working ignition system, remove the "Shift Gear Actuators", remove your ignition cylinder, put your ignition cylinder into the parts car's shift actuator and install that into your car. That way you still have only one key. Or you'll need to figure out what is best for your situation. And I had to do the remove/install without removing the drivers seat because my '92 had power seats and I couldn't engage power to the car. Good luck! Vern
