I,
Seems to me I've put '88 injectors in an '86 car with no problem at all. I'm pretty sure they are all the same for those years. Should be the same LH2.2 system. Since they only fail in two modes; stuck open (to various degrees) or not opening at all, you could just pull the rail and injectors and do a spray pattern test. The black fuel circuit ground wires that attach to the lifting eye near the thermostat are critically important to injector performance. So you found good compression on all four, that's good news. Have you watched a spark plug to be sure you have ignition?
