As it turned out the eeuro ones I got were brass but picked 2 up at former dealer ( Hendrick ) in Cary, NC and they turned out to be steel but so far am completely out of luck finding anywhere to cut steel keys. As one of other posters mentioned in sub-thread on this topic ,good idea to pick to pick them up when you see them, much like many C900 ,parts you might say. Local locksmith, whom it happens is a Saab appreciator, if not enthusiast, ( says he sees a lot of 900s rallying in NC ) went and bought the Saab key kit so he could build me what will now be a spare ignition cylinder to my original codes. Before that, when ignition was stuck after the one too many spills, he had helped me unstick it for free rather than just go for the dough and say I needed new ignition cylinder. His honesty paid off as he will build me my spare ( it is just a matter of time until another Big Mac Meal ends up being tipped between seats anyway so best be ready )
