The OBD1 thing is not the whole story, it only has... adapters for the most popular brands, meaning GM, Ford, Toyota and Chrysler/Jeep if I remember correctly. And I think all of their higher end OBD1 scanners are the same.
I've looked at them in the auto parts stores before and was disappointed at how few OBD1 types it supported. However, since there was no common standard, I guess that makes sense.
Now, since Saab was part of GM at that point, who knows? I'd suggest taking a picture of your OBD1 connector in the car and compare it to the actual adapters in the kit. If it matches, then maybe it will work!
If it's the Equus line, and if it's the 3140, make sure you get the later model the 3140b, it has a USB connectivity the plain 3140 doesn't.
If you get it, please let us know if it works out! Here, they're non-returnable, so if you purchase it it's yours even if it doesn't do what you want, so that's held me back from purchasing.
Good luck!
Mark :-)
