Here's the thing....The distributor rotor will always point to the same place when cylinder #1 is expecting to fire unless something has been physically modified (metalwork involved) such as cutting a different slot in the end of the cam or making a distributor shaft with a different correlation between the half-slot that accepts the rotor and offset tang that goes into the end of the camshaft. You could adjust the cam timing way off but then it wouldn't matter where your rotor pointed. You might encounter a rotor meant for a different car with it's locating tab in a different place relative to it's contact arm tip but that would just be a mistake. So barring any intentional modifications to components, way off cam timing or the use of a "funny" rotor there's no way to put cap tower #1 in any other position than "Upper left" (when viewed from in front) if the ignition timing is even close to correct. Once again, this only applies to the B202 (as far as I know). Maybe I'm wrong about this but it makes sense to me.
