So I'm replacing the springs on a 91T/175K. The stock springs are bowed and the car sits about the same height as my 90T with SPG springs. The 91T springs are going to scrap. I wrestled with the pass spring for hours between yesterday and today. The first set of spring compressors slipped and the spring almost popped out. Finally got it out with the 2nd set of spring compressors. Engraved on those compressors is a statement 'for Mcpherson struts only' The replacement SPG spring went in with out much protest. This weekend I'm moving on to the driver's side. I'm wondering if anyone has just sawed thru a coil spring with a cutoff wheel tool? I have a 4" Makita grinder/cutoff tool.
