Garaging doesn't probably make a huge difference unless it is garaged in the day... so if you park in the sun at work, it's probably going to crack. We *had* a virtually crack free dash (almost perfect, maybe a hairline, I don't remember now)... we use a reflective windshield visor inside our c900's as much as possible. Still, they are slowly cracking. The cracks in the better one (interestingly, in the winter beater!) are pretty minor still - it is parked in a garage all summer. We don't use any spray on protection on the dash.
I'm thinking I will just fill the cracks with an epoxy + filler... or maybe polyurethane glue and filler. I have black sawdust I saved as filler from a countertop project. I'm certain it will not be show car perfect (neither is the rest of the car - both of these cars have been driven in salt, but one is pretty clean and on a low sodium diet now), but I'm sure I can match it relatively well. Whenever I get to this low priority project, I will post pics...
