Starter stuck engaged? Posted by cgwiz [Email] (#1128) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cgwiz) on Mon, 27 Jan 2014 09:00:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yesterday, I started my '93 900S, and it sounded funny, and seemed low on power. In addition, the SRS light stayed illuminated. Kept it running for about a minute, with RPM's up to ~2500, and shut it off. When I turned the key back on, the starter immediately was engaged, and started the car. SRS light remained on. Shut it back off, and tried again. This time, the starter was not immediately engaged. I started it, and the SRS light went off. So, was the starter still engaged as the engine was running? Thereby way over-revving the starter? Should I be looking to replace it soon? FYI - this morning, it turned over slowly, but not any slower than it has the last week of below zero temps.
