The vacuum hose is attached to the can by a plastic grommet(circular plastic piece with inlet for the hose). I removed the clamp and took the hose off and put a wire into the grommet but it butted up against something hard(is this a two way valve here?) Did you mean that I should remove this grommet and then stick the wire in there? I tried prying out the grommet but managed to chip a piece off the plastic. What's the best way to remove thie grommet?
