But to get real, the only thing that comes to mind that would affect the shifter and shake the car under heavy torque would be a blown out motor mount. Left or right, the feeling would be most pronounced in the shifter and with the motor hopping around in its compartment it would shake the car,

I was thinking of a bad wheel bearing but that wouldn't play any roll with torque and unless its really bad & it wouldn't shake the shifter. The vibration of a bad wheel bearing can only be felt at high speeds.

If its not ice build up in your rims, check out your motor mounts, a slow take off with little torque wouldn't vibrate the car nearly as much as it would under high torque
