I'm with Notnoel..... heat & UV + poor materials Posted by K-Saab [Email] (#1142) [Profile/Gallery] (more from K-Saab) on Fri, 7 Mar 2014 17:17:28 In Reply to: It appears to be a combination of heat and UV, Notnoel [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 7 Mar 2014 16:47:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There's a reconditioned dash on *bay right now for $1,500. I watched the you tube video on how they are made.
I've looked at least 100 cracked dashes here in Texas at the Pick N Pull. Heat is a problem. I've found two good dashes in twelve years of searching ($26 ea.)
Glen is also right, they all crack in time.
The only place that has a high number of crack free dashes is the PNW, i.e. Seattle & Vancouver. They rarely see the sun and the weather is mild, never hot or cold.
I'm not going to throw away another dash as I'm convinced in the long run recovering is going to be the best, but expensive option.
