Hello,
Well if you take it to an indie or any other place for replacement book time for the job is about 14 hours. You have to pull the engine with the transmission on it and then separate the transmission from the engine. If you are going that way I would advise having any oil leaks repaired while its out and a serious look over of items like the drivers side motor mount. A good look at the steering rack and the upper control arm bushings.
On the other hand I have had surprising results adjusting the bands on many an automatic transmission that was suppose to be "cooked". Good Luck, Bernie at George Riggin Specialty Automotive.
