What year/model?
could be timing chain.
I've had chain tensioners fail on me like that. Just started it up and without warning the latch-pawl came apart and chain lost tension. Chain slapping around and made a horrible racket. Got lucky cause i turned it off quick. Pulled the valve cover and I could see that the chain was loose.
Also, plastic chain-tensioner guide rails break apart without warning too. Another guide rail on the inside of the valve cover that drys up too.
all of that wouldn't really explain the oil pressure light though. Perhaps you knocked the pressure switch connection loose during your oil pump housing re-seal.?
