Does anyone have a needle bearing out of a 89 or earlier steering head ( upper bearing ) Saab part number is 8935025 -- NLA and can't find one.
I can probably get one spec'd out by INA or other needle bearing mfr.
OK, so what I'm seeing ( feeling actually ) is axial movement of about 2 mm without any radial movement. I tightened the steering wheel nut on the shaft and it still has movement when you push and pull on the wheel.
I've corrected the ABS type bearing failures in the steering head, but not the non abs type.....I'm wondering if the needle bearing never gives up and it's something else like the housing under the needle bearing.
