Det,
when I mentioned brake indicator light I meant to say whether it's alive or not. You should see it on if you leave your car sitted (or sit, if you're after that Billy) for a couple of days: the pressure in the brake accumulator will drop off then forcing the light to go on upon ignition. So if your brake indicator light is operative and it doesn't go on with the ABS indicator light then it's got to be in the anti-lock system itself.
On the other hand, that valve block (pack, thing, whatever) is designed to be a part of the anti-lock system, but the return valves also act as CLOSED exhaust valves (in other words: like those lines where those valves are inserted into do not even exist) upon conventional brakes operation. And one of your valves in your old valve-block was open thus giving you no brakes on that wheel which turned into that course-stability issue upon braking.
So once again, I recommend you to try pulling out DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) off the ABS ECU and it's best described on the Townsend's website (google for 'townsend saab master'). Keep in mind that if you turn off the ignition then you'll clear all and any DTCs which were stored in the ABS ECU. If you find nothing there, then you'll have to check all the valves (electrically: windings, coils) in the valve block you recently replaced and the wiring between that thing and the ABS ECU. NOTE THAT WIRE HAS TO BE THICK ENOUGH TO PASS THE CURRENT REQUIRED: half-broken stock wire - which I think is your issue - isn't able to properly drive an ABS valve.
You can also perform that brake accumulator pressure capacity test: with ignition on wait for the brake pump to stop pumping and then quickly do a series of hard brakes (you don't have to be coasting, stay stationary and have parking brake applied, since safety first) until you've got the brake indicator light on in the instrument cluster (or the clocks if you're traded liberty land for metropolis). But I think that's more on the curiosity side rather than on performing real troubleshooting your issue.
Zig
P.S.
I feel like I missed some articles - both definite and indefinite ones - so please pass my sincere excuses to William and other gentlemen around.
