A rose by any other name smells as sweet..... Posted by DET17 [Email] (#1254) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DET17) on Thu, 3 Jul 2014 09:55:02 In Reply to: Proportioning module? Forgive me, I may not have used the proper Swedish description. I'll double check my troubleshooting guide which another kind gent here was nice enough to email me (bless his heart). The FORWARD module which receives 4 hard lines horizontally, then sends out bottomward the 3 outputs to the LF, RF, and rear brake systems. Yes indeedy, it has a nice multi-pin flat connector (forgiveness again requested, as I don't know the scientific name of said type of connector) on the forward facing plate which without doubt is controlled by the ABS ECU under yonder rear seat area.
In fact Zig, it was your advice I received and finally took, to disconnect my ABS ECU from my vehicle and test drive. Same exact swerving behavior, albeit with a continuously burning ABS yellow light on my dash (no idea what your light looks like in Mordor).
I don't have any BRAKE FLUID light any longer burning, at least not that I noticed during my 4 practice panic stops. I'll take care to look closely during the next practice round.
In closing, the whachamacallit valve body with electrical control, certainly has resolved my convertible's bad habit of swerving the boot out into oncoming traffic.
Will do the appropriate reconn. to determine the next step for the accumulator. I read something about 140bar, 180ish bar charged, etc. etc. I'm just thrilled the damn thing no longer tries to change lanes when I mash the brakes!
