w/o ignition pulses you won't have your fuel pump running. I'd say that you had a short-circuited hall-sensor wiring which either blew out the #3 fuse in the main blackbox or killed the ignition amplifier (the cookie-lookin-thing on the driver's fender). Having ignition on use a voltmeter to check 12V to be there at ignition amp pin #4 (input pin, GN/WH wire comes from fuse #3 mentioned above), pin #5 (GN color, power supply for the dizzy hall sensor). Check pin #2 to have a solid ground connection.

If the test above is success and you still have no pulses on the ign/amp pin #7 (which goes to the tachometer and TSI socket pin #5, the round thing in the main blackbox) then your ignition amplifier is kaputt.
