The empi shafts had allot if chatter Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Thu, 18 Sep 2014 18:28:07 In Reply to: Re: Are they empi half shafts ?, or.saab, Thu, 18 Sep 2014 15:07:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On this bb, when they first came out was in 2007 Eeuroparts were selling them as a brand new half shaft, new outter cv and new inner tripod for 89$ super awesome deal but in the end the shafts are short. Driver side is so short I wouldn't even suggest using it. Passenger side empi shaft isnt short and it will work but there's no replacement tripod if you ever needed one. The missing length is in the empi shaft. Keeping your old oem shafts and rebuilding them is best. Only the outter empi cv joint is compatible with the oem shaft. Here's a link to the chatter back in the day if you feel like reading.
The first link is measuring everything on the oem shaft, tri pods, the shaft, shaft with cv to compare with the empi axles measurements to find were was the missing length in the empi set up.
In 2007 they were brand new just flooding the c900 world and no one knew anything about them.
The 2nd post is the conclusion of where the missing length is. To make a long story short its the empi shaft. Get rid of them and equip the oem shafts.
