The passenger side is fine, I didn't know they were any shorter. Perhaps now days there making them a tad shorter than back when. What will happen is the tripod will spin in the c-companion shaft (driver) and destroy it when the steering wheel is turned hard left. If your driving the car with the empi installed turn the wheel hard left and hit the throttle. If the car moves forward your fine if the axle falls out of the driver or you hear thud thud thud and arnt moving that's a bad sign.
I never had a problem with the passenger side I had it installed for a few years now and have a rebuilt oem passenger side standing by ready for install. You shouldn't have a problem
