Hello! I'm sending out a feeler for some assistance.
I'm a US Navy retired Senior Chief Petty Officer currently working as a civilian for the Navy in Japan.
Before I left the USA, I gave my '84 900T to my Dad in Plant City, Florida. He's not very mechanically inclined, and the car is now sitting.
When I was home last, a little over a year ago, the car would not start. It would turn over, but wouldn't fire. I had some spare fuel pump relays and swapped them in, but to no avail. Suspect either all my spare relays are bad, or the fuel pump itself may be bad.
It is (was) nice car with Super Inca rims, auxiliary gauges, Wade headlight covers, denim jean seat covers and a highly coveted rear décor panel. The engine and transmission were in good order when I gave it to him... but he's neglected it.
I was looking to see if someone wanted to give an old shipmate an assist and go look at it for me/him.
Please let me know if anyone would be willing to help on a weekend or something... I'd really hate for him to have to "junk" it... he's wanting to be rid of some of the non-running cars...
I've been a member of the various SAAB Clubs over the years, and have a ton of V4 cars there at my Dad's place in Plant City.
Thanks,
Mike Szostkiewicz, MNCS(SW), USN (Ret.)
