Thank you both. I tried using a putty type of adhesive, it's just too thick and doesn't allow for good contact against all my nicely sanded and cleaned surfaces. It's tempting to add acetone when kneading. I went with Original JB Weld again. Can't wait to do this all over again next X-mas. Maybe Scantech/Pro Parts Sweden will have a new version then :-)
I'm curious if anyone has taken a leaky OEM heater core valve and removed the rod, leaving the top cap alone, and injected a sealant into the rod hole like silicone or rubber product that is friendly with the orignal buna o-ring. Then, install rod back in while sealant is fluid, wait a few days and install back into car.
