Helps to wax the car too......
Over a winter season a few years ago, I put a costly car cover on a car, and it was amazing how much snow slid off the car with a basic push. The car cover was the tightly woven breathable type.
Now, I'll put a vert cover ( just covers the top and glass ) over the hatchback and let the snow pile up, and then just push it off. The only problem is that the elastic sometimes takes a permanent set if it gets wet and frozen. Helps to keep the doors from freezing shut, but the car has to be dry when you put it on, otherwise, the cover sticks to the surface. But, that is why it's a winter beater.
