Stereo shops must face this from time to time. I couldn't really make out in your photo where the hole is and its shape. If irregular, you'll have a harder time.
I have filled smaller holes in various surfaces by taping something like saran wrap tightly over the hole, then epoxying from the back side. Or for a matte finish I've used masking tape. The stickum side peels clean and leaves a nice surface on the epoxy. If done carefully it can fill flush and have a smooth surface finish. For a wider hole you'd need something stiffer, mylar or plastic card or cardboard to back the film or tape up. Maybe wax paper backed by cereal box cardboard, taped down snug, then multiple coats of epoxy from the back, with some cloth bedded in after the first layer or two.
You can tint the epoxy with oil paint. Sometimes artists' oil paint in tubes is handy. Automotive paint would work fine too and give a pretty good match, if you have a can that matches your car.
