Wheel bearing experience...

A few months ago I changed out a complaining driver's front wheel bearing. I ordered up a replacement bearing branded Febi and carefully installed it as I have countless other wheel bearings through the years. The bearing cost roughly $20. At first it felt great and I was pleased to have smooth sensations coming from that corner of the car again.
Well, here we are today and the bearing is toast. It doesn't make a bunch of noise but it sure is loose, as I can rock the wheel in and out as I grasp the tire at the top.
I am about to order new bearings for both front wheels and am no longer looking to save money buying parts that seem like a good deal at first! This time I am going with Timken double row angular contact roller bearings, versus these double row ball bearings that are so much less expensive. The Timken bearings fetch around $70 apiece.
Has anyone else here had a similar wheel bearing experience? Funny thing, I almost bought a proper Timken roller bearing the first time, but rationalized that there couldn't be that big a difference between it and the Febi I used for the repair. Well, we will see about that soon enough!
