And I'm not sure if you mean it leaked all of it's refrigerant out, or if there is still pressure in the system and it is not working now

In my case, there was refrigerant, but because i had failed to replace receiver/dryer and expansion valve, as well as failed to draw down the vacuum, I'm pretty sure there was too much moisture in my system and it simply didn't work.

I bled out the enviro-safe (thankfully it is environmentally safe!) , replaced those parts (using an o ring kit I bought on amazon for like 10 bucks...it was so great to have an abundance of sizes, no need to try to figure out which ones from eeuroparts and wait!) and pulled a vacuum with a $50 vacuum pump I bought on eBay along with a $20 manifold gauge kit I bought on amazon...

THEN I added enviro-safe, and it blows cold and consistent now!

One word of caution: the aftermarket receiver drier I bought on europarts was not sufficient; it lacked the pressure sensor and sender that the OE one had. I ended up having to buy an OE one on eBay...
