Recently picked up a set of 16" 9000 Aero rims and I want to put 195/55R16 tires on - same diameter as stock (185/65r16 - this is not an SPG), a touch wider, should offer more precise feel with 16" vs 15 wheel and probably v rated would mean stiffer sidewall which I would like. I don't really need wider and I'm not interested in dealing with rubbing etc.

Unfortunately, there are limited tire choices in that size. I'd love to run Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS (have them on the 9-5) but they don't make this size. The RE960AS is still available but only as a runflat.

Aside from cost, are there any other downsides to getting run flat tires?

Are there any other good choices (summer/performance A/S) that are currently available in 195/55R16? I like directional. Mainly care about water performance and handling. Couldn't care less about comfort/wear etc.
