Hey everyone, I have spent quite a bit of time looking for this info, and haven't been able to find a clear answer.
I am testing my Air Mass Meter on my '92 900S 16V Non-turbo (LH 2.4.2). The Bentley manual says "... turn the ignition on and check for voltage and ground at the meter's connector. There should be ground at pin 4. There should be positive battery voltage at ... pin 5"
I am getting positive battery voltage at Pin 5, but I am not getting ground at pin 4. I am, however, getting ground at pin 1 no matter if the ignition is off or on. This is true when the connector is plugged into the AMM, or disconnected. On pin 4 I am getting about 500 ohms resistance to ground when ignition is on, and nothing when ignition is off. Also the wire going to pin 4 is a Red with a White line and my spider sense tells me that is not a ground wire.
My question to you all is this: Do you guys with similar cars have ground at pin 4? I tested pretty much everything else testable in the Bentley and it all tests OK, except for this one thing.
I did find this page, which mentions that for the later, plastic AMMs, pin 1 should be ground (pin 4 was ground on the earlier aluminium bodied AMMs).
