power antenna not working Posted by ryan [Email] (#2222) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ryan) on Sat, 8 Aug 2015 23:21:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My power antenna quit working. The unit isn't too old as I had to replace it five years ago or so. All of a sudden it quit working. Then randomly began working again. And not it has quit...
I've tried to radios (one new), so that ain't the problem. I tried measuring voltage at the antenna connector, but wasn't sure what the wires are for. There are two wires, I believe a red and green. Is red positive and green a trigger? I'm not great at electronics, so could anyone tell me how to properly test this?
I have a suspicion that the antenna isn't getting power, so it's a bit worrisome to trace that fault...
