There's plenty of water in the block and heater after a drain, you've got to either flush it properly with flow, or you need to fill-drive-and-drain with distilled water a few times. I would do the first time with one of the sodium-citrate flushes since you know it's got oil and combustion byproducts in it.
You should probably know what kind of coolant you're using...but yes, G05 is indeed yellow...and yes, it should stay clear, once it's in the reservoir you can't tell any color at all, it should appear as (slightly thick) water.
