An injector will still fuel the cylinder even if there is no spark from a plug. The un burned fuel is ignited by the cat and it gets over hot and glows orange. This will cause the electric wire insulation to melt and/or burn causing short circuits. Check your heat shield and the wire loom under the center console. Don't park on dry grass or leaves!
