The '93 transmission will have the larger pinion bearing, a 19-mm hex-headed dipstick substitute where the normal, useful dipstick would be, but no drain.
A transmission from a non-turbo is likely to have been driven with a lighter touch than one from a turbo.
The big things for condition are the number of miles on it, how nicely it was driven, and how often the oil was changed. With one that was pulled from a wreck like this one, it's kind of a crapshoot.
With luck, the transmission will have been rebuilt at some time. And, who knows, it may be a franken-mission with the primary chain case from an '88 and the rest of the unit from a later car.
If you can see the underside, check for a drain plug to see if the case is from an '88.
