Found the TSB on the Townsend site though was only slated for the B201 engines specifically. That is what is leading me to wonder if, since only the B201 engine was listed for retrofit, was the B202 Turbo already fitted with a dual fan turn on for cooling?
My car, a 93 Turbo (CE #64), has both turning on for cooling which, while great at bringing the temp down quickly, also initiates a huge voltage drop when they both kick in. Oddly enough, when the A/C is on there is no voltage drop at all.
I have asked two former Saab techs who were around in the 90's and one said that he remembered wiring a bunch of turbo and non-turbo cars for the dual fan set up while the other only remembered it being the B201's as they were blowing head gaskets around the 60-70K mileage mark at an alarming rate. My 93 900S that I bought new in 93 blew the gasket at a bit over 60K in 1996. Fortunately Saab covered it.
Thanks....
