Have been down both roads regarding C900 bumper covers. Few things....
If you can source a new set of the covers, you will also want to grab a new set of the front and rear bumper extensions. The reason for this is that the color difference between the new covers and the extensions will be very noticeable. I tried replacing just the bumper covers years back when I was freshening up my CE and ended up getting the extensions as well as the color contrast was very stark. So, that leads to even more fun trying to source the four specific panels as well as the bumper covers.
As all the parts you need have been NLA for quite some time, your best bet would be to grab a Saab dealer directory listing from the mid 2000's. These were in every new car owners manual set from Saab. Readily available on Ebay. The next thing would be to get the six part numbers from the EPC as well as the part numbers for the front (two needed) and rear chrome strips as there is a very good chance the ones on the bumper now will snap in half when you remove the spring clips. The extensions came with the chrome strip from the factory.
From there, use the dealer directory to call the listed Saab dealers, many of which are still in business through not, obviously, selling new Saabs. Ask for the parts department and have them run the part numbers....do not just call them up and ask if they have bumper covers as many dealers were/are GM shops that also sell other lines and when they here Saab they loose interest and just say no. You might luck out and a dealer/shop will have a part on the shelf collecting dust.
Time consuming? Yes it is but other then someone willing to give up a set or finding them on Ebay, there are limited avenues to sourcing the items no matter if you are willing to pay a premium or not. Ask me how I know about that last part......
The other option is to have them repainted, PROFESSIONALLY, using the Saab color code of 176, Anthracite Grey-Matte Finish. i recently had to do this on a 1990 SPG that I picked up as the SPG side cladding was in superb shape (car only has 39K original miles) but the front and rear tops of the bumper covers were a bit sun damaged. While not a huge fan of repainting the covers, I found a shop that was willing to take the time to match the color spot on (very important to have the proper dulling agent used to achieve the matte finish) and use the correct amount of flex agent mixed in so as to prevent cracking down the road. The paint they used was BASF, Glasurit which is used by many BMW Motorcycle body shops. Just make sure they tape off the metal mount holes and backs, etc. Cost me a bit extra but was worth it as I hate overspray.
While not perfect and "shiny new" it came out looking great and again, was a dead on match.
Hope the above info help. Good luck!!
