Check coolant level and bleed air out through the brass fitting on the thermostat housing. If it still runs warm look very closely at your radiator. It may look nice on the engine side, but has rotted cooling fins on the front side. I had the same issue without the A/C running and running at 65 mph. When I turned on the heat and fan on high the temperature dropped to below half on the gauge. Turned out the radiator could not dump enough heat because it had lost many cooling fins on the front side which is hidden behind the A/C condenser. Replaced the radiator and the temperatures returned to normal at highway speeds and in traffic with the cooling fan kicking on and off.
