Thought I would call attention to the Dorman 180-191, which purports to be a "nylon fuel line union." It essentially identical to Pex-style push-to-connect fittings but sized for nylon fuel lines.
I am swapping fuel tanks in my '85 SPG and in doing so was faced with replacing the fuel return line, which runs non-stop from the engine to the tank. The easy solution is to just cut it under the back seat and splice it in with rubber hose, but while looking for alternatives I found this item.
Picked up at Autozone for $8, and since I only needed one I tested the other on some scrap fuel line. Let me just say they offer a TENACIOUS grip and it seems the fuel line will fail long before the union. ;)
As packaged, in a pair, these could be used to patch existing line or individually they can splice two sections together. Wish this would have existed ten years ago, but better late than never. ;)
Dorman also has a 800-180, which is a 12" section of flexible nylon hose with barbs at either end. The package says "Fuel line repair" but the website says "fuel vapor line repair" - not sure which is to be trusted. I bought it just to compare. I'm not sure it's a good idea in any case for the pressure line, but it'd probably be fine for the return line. However, if nothing else, it does come with two brass couplers and four single-ear clamps. If nothing else, the fittings could probably be repurposed to mend a return line if someone was so inclined. However, I think the 800-191 is still a better option.
