I skipped ahead and attempted to get the old plastic fuel tube over the new Walbro pump over the weekend. It was not a problem. For fun, I then tried removing the fuel check valve on the output like, also not a problem.
I attribute my success to the Radio Shack 300w Mini Heat Gun, which I bought years ago to melt a plastic HVAC duct in my Fiero to clear some speakers. This heat gun is small and does not get hot enough to actually destroy anything unless you are completely reckless. Seems to work *great* on the Saab plastic fuel tube.
Had it not worked, I am 100% confident the 8" corrugated tube I mentioned in the previous post would have easily done the job. On a second, spare fuel pump bucket it fit perfectly and was able to make the 270 degree bend without kinking or crimping, so it'd be a great option as well.
Waiting on e-euro's delivery of a replacement check valve, and then everything goes back together. It'll be nice to have the SPG back on the road (it was laid up for a bit while I went through the brakes ;).
