Put a new check valve fitting on the end of the pressure line last night using a 5/16" die from a brake line flaring tool with a little friction tape around the tube to protect it. With the low output mini heat gun, the fitting was pretty easy to install. Only a little cursing. ;)
Got the pump in the tank, the tank in the car, and with a new fuel filter everything put back together. Now I have a 2016 pump in a 2005 assembly in a 1990 tank in a 1985 car. It's multi-generational!
I am going to keep the 9-3/9-5 pigtail on the pump and adapt the wiring on the chassis side, as I plan to use the newer fuel level sender in my setup. The resistance values for the old sender and new sender are completely incompatible, so I will be replacing the fuel gauge as well.
