Question on Hoses - ? Posted by renoartmark [Email] (#2095) [Profile/Gallery] (more from renoartmark) on Thu, 22 Dec 2016 11:45:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi Everyone,
I am a returning Saab owner. I just picked up a 1986 Saab 900 Turbo - Black with Tan Leather. I purchased it form the original owner and it has 205,000. It is an automatic, which I am a nervous for the long run. But the paint is amazing, garaged all the time, interior is great.
Question: The previous owner had placed water on and off valves for the two hoses that lead into the heater control valve unit. He replaced the heat exchanger twice and the heater control valve once. The valves on the hoses are closed and he told me just to open them for the heater to work. I need a heater in Reno. I was thinking, should I keep these valves on the two hoses that lead into the heater control valve or take them off and restore it to original. I was just wondering where I could get another Heater Control Valve if it goes out later on. What do you guys think?
Also, are those two hoses heater hoses? And can you buy them online?
I am just a little nervous and excited, it has been 10 years since I have owned a Saab. This is my first c900. Any advice?
Thanks,
Mark
